Joseph Camps Bespoke Tweed Coat

Joseph Camps Bespoke Tweed Coat

$750.00

The tailoring atelier of Joseph Camps could be said of having laid a foundation for what has become today’s Parisian bespoke tailoring. The atelier, in addition to making the finest suits for the European elites, had trained a whole generation of Parisian tailors who have since jointly been defining the French tailoring style as we know today. The atelier itself was then subsumed by Camps de Luca thanks to the de Luca family, long time partner-disciples of Joseph and has become the world’s best bespoke tailor.

This vintage Joseph Camps coat is, despite its simple classic look, very unique. In particular, the sleeves are of the raglan construction that allow for ease of movement, but in the mean time they are cut with such a subtle curvature that when put on, instead of hugging the body at the shoulder like typical raglan construction, the shoulders are more prominent to create a structured look despite the lack of actual padding. The cloth is also noteworthy: a herringbone tweed that has a substantiality to it only found in vintage tweeds.
